James Bond, a British Style Icon
By Lydia Burton, on 11/05/09.Looking at the choice of James Bond shoes, in the most recent of films.
James Bond is a British style icon, his choice of watch, phone and even swimming shorts in each film are bound to be a huge success in the shops, and so it is very fitting that he chooses to wear quality British shoes. Bond is a huge follower of Church Shoes, a traditional English shoe maker that has been crafting elegant Gentleman’s shoes in Northampton for over 130 years. Of course Bond has the highest of standards when it comes to his style, making Church shoes the perfect choice, going through 250 vigorous processes in the traditional manufacturing line. In both The World is not Enough and Tomorrow Never Dies Pierce Brosnan is filmed wearing the classic Monk style Westbury from the brand’s formal range, and in the two most recent films starring Daniel Craig, Church Shoes are still Bond’s preferred footwear. With his more formal of outfits he wears the classic lace shoe in black calf and to suit the more casual of his outfits he wears Church Ryder, a chukka boot in Brown suede.
Although Bond appears to stick to the finest in Italian Tailoring, he stays true and patriotic in his choice of shoes, choosing the finest selection of English shoes to put the finishing touch to his outfits.
