Ladies Day At Royal Ascot
The Royal Ascot Week is well known for Ladies day. A Day - which is renowned for ladies', hats and heels.

Ladies who attend Royal Ascot will spend months organising their outfit and more importantly their hats. The event has become a showpiece for the fashion world displaying high end fashion. Even though Ladies day is not until Thursday 17th June there are still last minute preperations happening and sometimes finding the right shoe design to match the shade of oufit can be hard. We have a gorgeous selection of elegant foot wear that could execute the outfit perfectly. If a frock is quite plain, detailed elegant shoes could fit in nicely or else if the outfit is very detailed, vibrant simple design could fit in better. Also matching handbags are available with various designs which is a nice added touch.
Black is always a key colour that fits in with most outfits especially if the frock is vibrant. Peter Kaiser Erie is a stylish suede sling back with an added bow detail,it is a dressy design that is perfect for the event and also comes in suede.
However neutral tones match well with plain outfits and will not take too much attention away from extravagant hats. The peep toe sling back from Peter Kaiser Seike has a stylish trim and a detailed finish available in beige and navy. Hispanitas Jade available in tan could contrast a coloured oufit well with a bow trim and platform combination making it an elegant touch.
Colour is big for the summer so consider, depending on the outfit, richer colours on the foot along with oceanic tropical tones. Wedges can often be a bit heavy with dressier outfits so it is all about finding a balance. However Hispanitas Grace suits the occasion with strong colour and a rosette trim.

Rebecca Sanver Adeil available in vibrant blue or black is from our high end range. The chic design is strappy, sitting high on the ankle with a zip back fastening. The slim high heel is well balanced with the platform sole but with a neutral or lighter coloured outfit could make the design really stand out.
Architectural masterpieces of cut out shoe designs and strappy looks can add to the look of an outfit. Gugliemo Rotta Abi is a stunning cut out design that is completley neutral with a zip fastening and a high stiletto heel, a shorter dress would accompany this well. Unisa Siam is another lovely design but is filled in on the foot more with a high heel and platform sole it would again work better with a plain coloured outfit.
If you are not one for high heels, a kitten or chunky heel could be an option too especially if your walking on grass. Gabor Scotch has a lovely suede finish and tiered tassel detail on the front with a velcro fastening ankle strap.
Hopefully whatever outfit and shoe design is chosen for the event, or any other occasion like this a great day will be had by all.

Cut Out Booties meet Sandals
Todays trend of cut out shoe designs are being seen higher on the ankle, more holes and strapping are being worked together. We are seeing more and more clothing and shoe styles combining cut outs almost rearranged in a quirky way which is effective for the season.

Boots have seen a lot of transformation recently, open toes and heels are being combined, revealing more cut outs and less boot all around. Nothing looks as right now as a boot that is open to the elements, so it is no surprise that the hottest look for Summer is the boot that has become a sandal.
Maintaining the slouchy or architecturally stiff enclosed ankle shaft is key here, giving the overall shoe a boot feeling. Shoes that start to open up to become thong sandals in front, or slender takes on gladiator styles therefore shows open Summer sandals that meet their winter look somewhere around the ankle.
Alternatively Wonders 8911 are cowboy boots that are looking great for the season too and the pastel shades are not to heavy on the foot. It seems strange to wear boots in the Summer months but they do work well with skirts and shorts because of the cut. Also the Wonders 0024 leather slouch bag is a comfortable wear and is a match with the cowboy boots and would fit nicely with the seasonal colours above.
This shoe boot trend really started catching in the Spring / Summer of 2008, but is continuing to gain popularity, and many Spring 2010 lines are introducing styles with these features. Whether it is open-toes, cut-away sides, cut-out heels, laser cuts, or any combination of those features, cutout booties will take you through the season.
Hispanitas 2583 Claire the sandal boot style is made from very soft leather and gathers effectively at the front, it is fully leather lined and the velcro strap adds a different dimension to fastening around the ankle. Alternatively for a strappier sandal we have Wonders Cuerolite which combines thicker intertwined strapping a higher wedged heel with a platform and it comes in vibrant Summer colours.
Cut out booties provide a multi seasonal look that is fairly easy to wear. They can be paired with everything from skinny jeans to dresses, but remember that they are a fairly heavy style. Be sure to balance the colour and the heels with the rest of your outfit. However for the Summer cut out sandals are in force so be sure to get the right design that suits your foot.

Styling For Spring Summer 2010
Key styling for the season features neutral tones, shorts, blazers, skinny jeans, floral/stripey dresses and bold erotic prints. Shoe designs are working in line with these styles proving there is a variety of looks for every individual.
Bright and vivid colours are still making a fashion s
tatement for this Spring/Summer 2010 with an emphasis on lilac, purple and hot pink. Turquoise is an important colour and useful to mix with white and silver grey. The soft muted tones of grey are still important and silver accessories are a must have. Gerry Weber has a wonderful palette of silver grey and white highlighted with lilac, purple and turquoise.
Nautical is still a fashion must have for Spring/Summer 2010. Red, white and navy stripes mixed with denim is a fashion statement piece from Armani Jeans. The classic denim jacket is making a huge comeback this season too. Lucia provides a more classic slant to the nautical theme this season by putting together the classic pencil skirt with knitted jackets in red and navy highlighted with navy and white knitted short sleeved tops. Navy is the new black for this season as a classic look. French navy mixed with cream and grey is a new look from MaxMara weekend and can been seen on the catwalk this spring/summer mixed with denim.
Khaki, stone and soft turquoise is another colour palette for Spring/Summer 2010. Marc Cain and MaxMara weekend have used this colour palette to create a more casual weekend and holiday wear group. Combat trousers and harem trousers are making a real fashion statement and can be worn with the new gladiator style boot shoes in tan, khaki and stone. Unisa Siam, a suede grey high cut away boot style sandal is also another option as it works with the baggier low cut trouser.
Prints are still very strong this season from black and white, soft floral prints to strong vivid dramatic prints. Also snake skin is a key print too with its neutral tones coming from Geox Lola the breathable pump is a dainty mix with additional prints or jeans.
Linen plays a key role this Spring/Summer – soft fluid dresses with soft linen knit jackets, palazzo trousers with long line cardigans and short cropped loose fitting jackets. As well as the neutral linen colours there are bright linen colours from turquoise, hot pink as well as white and silver grey. Hispanitas Grace is a lovely floral sandal that really would work with a number of summer dresses also coming in the colour red, the petite fabric rosette features are a sweet touch. Also on a higher level Hispanitas Jade is a match for linen with a bow trim its a neutral shade that is dainty and not too overpowering
on the foot.
The key silhouettes this Spring/Summer is the dress, the classic pencil skirt and the harem trousers. Jeans are very important this summer – whilst the boot cut is still a fashion stable the narrow fit and straight leg fit jean are very important. Narrow leg crops and high cut shorts are key looks and can be worn with the long line cardigan or the short cropped denim jacket. Denim is still very important as well as white jeans which can be worn with the nautical look. Wedges are the key element for jeans as they add an elegant touch of height, corking and detailed patterning is a key look to be worn. Gabor Zoom 05.783 , an everyday casual wedge with leather strapping is a comfortable place to start. On an elegant level try Unisa Manilla with a corking wedge heel it is perfect for evening wear.

Cage Shoes and Collar Sandals
Footcoverings with definition have started appearing again this season. The decorative architectural cage shoe and the thick banded collar sandal is adding detail on the foot this Spring.
Cage sandals have started popping up again in fashion from last year and are being passed through into this season with collar sandals which is expanding the detailed footcovered look. The whole idea is to focus on the shoe and with these architectural bird cage sandals like Tamaris Orchid 28100 the foot becomes reinvented with an elegant twist.
A collar sandal is fitted with a wide collar or essentially depending on the sandal or shoe could be a thick band strapped around the ankle. Some collars go beyond just being wide ankle straps, extending several inches up the leg. Like Hispanitas 2245 Adelaide this stylish summer sandal from Hispanitas has the fashionable higher cut ankle collar combined with the higher heel and platform sole. It is finished with a contrasting bow and there is a matching bag available. The taller the collar, the tougher the trend is to pull off as it becomes restrictive. Cage shoes and collar sandals that started appearing last year have fully arrived as a mainstream trend. The cuff approach on the shoe or sandal almost looks like a bracelet drawing some attention and is a strange approach as collars are generally seen to be used on polo shirts, not on sandals. The invention is opening up many ideas and is working well on the foot.
Cage shoes deriving from the gladiator sandal of last year are reappearing as higher banded platform shoes and sandals. Many celebrities and fashion icons have been seen wearing these shoe designs of the season as can seen aside is Kim Kard
ashian. The inspiration started on the catwalk runway in 2008 and the cutout lines of the cage have swept the fashion industry by storm. Yves Saint Laurent and Givenchy have developed some complicated looking shoes for their runway shows, so the architectural shoe styles are certainly becoming refined and have a real impact for forthcoming seasons.
Hispanitas are doing some quirky trends for Spring - Summer 2010 with neutral tan and pastel shades which go well with most things and stand out with the defined added touches. Hispanitas 2583 Claire with this "Sandal Boot" is a contemporary design made from soft leather and has a velcro fastening ankle strap. The hidden platform is a great idea, making the high heel a little easier to wear. Hispanitas 2586 Sarah is a stunning sandal that offers both comfort and elegance. The design has the trendy higher cut ankle collar combined with a distinctive wedge heel. Hispanitas 2395 Tracey a striking ladies sandal from Hispanitas with a distinctive wedge heel, the design is executed in leather with multi-tone elastic straps. The bright contrasting colours can be matched with a variety of Spring - Summer outfits.
Alternatively Wonders 8633 Buu comfortable Summer ladies sandal has leather upper lining and elasticated straps for comfort. Great for holidays or general casualwear which really does define a cage look on the foot with cut out sections of leather. Wonders Crepelina is a very lightweight comfortable sandal coming in electric purple and black the thick elastic ankle strap is a great idea as it makes the sandal feel secure on the foor. With comfort and thick strapping it fits in well with this seasons trends. On the otherhand Gabor Jubilant 03.800 with adjustable ankle straps and a platform sole is showing thin strapping going up the ankle and around the foot. The stud detail is a fashionable look and finishes the edge detail of beautifully. Whether it be thick or very thin strapping the style is bound to suit as its versatile and can be placed with a range of outfits it just adds some quirky seasonal detail.
It is almost as if these sandals and shoe styles are merging cut of boots with strapping, the designs are continuously remerging in different ways, the designs are unique and just add an elegant touch to your outfit. Shoe design is forever collaborating different definitions together which always makes you wonder what will be next in shoe design?

Colour Shoe Trends for SS10
The emphasis for the season is to inject colour into your footwear.
Like last year, light and mid - tone neutral shoes are all the rage, with tans, beiges, taupes and creams abounding natural exotic snake skins and suede. Do not despair if you prefer a bit of colour on your feet, their will still be plenty of non neutral shades to choose from this spring with shades of blues and greens as the front runners.
Orange and pinks are strong tints coming into Spring which is daring to wear but with jeans and neutral colours is a nice balance. Orange clothing is difficult for a lot of people to pull off, wearing the citrus shade on your feet keeps the dynamic hue away from your face, allowing you to pair it with skin friendlier shades like blue and white. Pumps are a great place too start with bold shades of colour. Gabor Saskia 02.615 the casual pump with a twisted coiled strap comes in soft purple. The light weight Tamaris Daisy 22193 comes in soft leather, with a bow also featuring in lime. The mary jane style Gabor Prosper 04.160 in pink with an elastic strap incorporates a wooden buckle detail with coloured stitching in nubuck leather. Ecco feather 41203 is a yellow ballerina pump also features in purple both with stitching and an embossed Ecco logo. Red is hot this season too featuring in a lot of clothes and prints. The Gabor Savi 92.612 in light red with an elasticated bar with a stitched button is also looking cute on the foot. All coloured pumps work well with all outfits from jeans too skirts. They are always on trend and are perfect for everyday and considering there is lots of colours to choose from there is a shade to suit everyone.
The ever popular ladies toe-post mule from Gabor's Jolly range Gabor Lanzarote 03.700 is a lightweight, cushioned toe post which is always a favourite coming into Spring and Summer. It comes in several other bright shades lime green, pink, white, metallic and black these colours contrast well with a number of everyday outfits.
Shoe print is up and coming for the season too and in terms of pumps the Peter Kaiser Ariana is a dressy ballerina style. It is leather l
ined with a leopard print and patent finish bringing in line some print that is also a match with trousers.
Colour is always fun for the Spring and Summer as it injects some bold shades into an outfit, with printed and plain coloured pumps to choose from there is plenty of variety. So its time to renew those black and brown shoes from the winter wardrobe and replace them with some coloured tints, so be brave and bold and make your shoes stand out.
